I was an instructor at the very first International Calligraphy Conference held at St. John's University in Minnesota in 1981 and have been an instructor at 5 in total. I will be offering two courses, Inscription Cutting and Brush Romans.
Below are some examples of what I have been cutting over the past 6 months. Each of these is cut in slate using a carbide tipped chisel. I cut on the flat after having drawn and traced the letters and designs directly on the stone. The shaped edges were created with a jig saw and a file from templates I created by hand. The letters are gilded with 23K gold leaf and the colours are painted with one shot oil based colours. Each of the slates is sealed with Enrich N Seal.
Each of these slates has already been sold, however if you are interested in a commission, please click this
EMAIL LINK and send me a message to discuss.
